About Me.
My approaches to Music started as I was 6 years old, being Piano my first instrument. It was until 2012 when I started getting interested on Electronic Music with influences as Swedish House Mafia, David Guetta, Daft Punk, Skrillex and Deadmau5.
But it was in 2014, when I got my first DJ controller (DDJ WEGO 1) and also, I was accepted in an important jazz Music school in my city Xalapa, Veracruz, that my life changed because I was discovering a passion for my whole life.
Years later I started involving into Music production using Ableton Live learning by myself. It was in 2018 when I participated in a Remix contest by Firebeatz in Spinnin'Records Talent Pool and from more than 200 tracks mine finished in the position #36.
By 2022 I was studying (Mechatronic engineering) abroad in Trier, Germany where I had the opportunity to involve into the Techno Music Culture and also to meet music producers like Kevin Paul, John da Lemon and Zgo, doing a collaboration with the last one mentioned and thanks to this experience I decided to formalize my dream and that's how the project Garquez was born, I published my first Single "Up to you". Nowadays, Garquez is a project that mix different rhythms and sounds in music production, complementing with a Hybrid DJ Set which is a DJ Set complemented with Live Saxophone, Piano and Live sampling in Ableton.
Time Line
2012
My trip into Electronic music was starting, Iam learning to mix with a latop and taking piano classes with a private teacher, focused on classical music.
2014
I was accpeted in JazzUV, a Jazz music school in Xalapa, Veracruz where I improved my knoledge in music theorie and piano skills, focused on Jazz music. At the same year I got myfirst DJ controller and I started played at houseparties around the city.
2015
I used a Maschine mikro to produce my first song and started focusing on music production, with the knowledge from Jazzuv and YouTube tutorials. Then I moved to Ableton and started working on remixes
2017
I produced "Keep your Head up - Remix", which was summited to a remix contest by Firebeatz in Spinning Records Talent Pool and it ended up in the pace #31 from more than 500 tracks
2022
I've been in Germany for 1 year doing an university exchange . I decided to bring my saxophone from Mexico and it was worthy. During this year I released "Up to you" & "Thoughts" , two singles with Techno influences and spacy melodies. colaborated with local musicians like Zgo (Lofi producer) and released "Life's a beat", colaboration part of his EP "Bold Fortune". I played at Ghost, club located in Trier germany. At the moment I came back to Mexico and released "Bailadores" a Tech House song with Latin Music influences and now I'm improving my live perfomance skills so I can play instrments and improvise on the go.
2023
I have been playing in La Chulada Centro, having the oportunity to improve my sound and my hybrid set. Saxophone is now an essential of my set. A new EP is about to be released and a lot is happening in the studio. Also on September I had the oportunity to play by first time in a festival and in Mexico City.
